Dr Isiah Shanko has a passion and skill for biomechanics, movement coordination, and development.
After spending five years in physical therapy working with vestibular rehabilitation, stroke recovery, and movement-based neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, MS, and ALS, he went down the road of chiropractic and functional neurology. His experience with a wide range of family dynamics and patient bases taught him to look ‘through the weeds’ and identify root cause.
Dr Isiah’s pursuit of functional neurology allows him to help children who struggle with day-to-day activities similar to the challenges he faced as a child. An athlete at heart, school was his struggle. He has since pushed past all of those barriers, receiving his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and continually working towards his fellowship in functional neurology. This work continues to fire his intense curiosity, as he continues to discover ways to help children work with their brains, rather than fighting against them.

Dr Anna Oppermann is passionate about development, nutrition, patient education and empowerment.
Originally from St John, Indiana, her pursuit of a deeper understanding took her around and across the country to pursue a career in neuroscience, and then to the field of neurosurgery research at Stanford. Her road to medical school stopped short once she realized that she wanted to help patients get to the true root of their health challenges, which landed her in chiropractic school.
Dr Anna’s passion for pediatrics was driven by the loss of her daughter Thea in 2022. Driven by grief and purpose, she channeled her energy into helping every child who walks through her clinic doors.
She has completed hundreds of hours in specialized pediatric education, developmental education, preconception, prenatal, and postnatal care, functional neurology, and functional medicine. Her fascination with the brain and its intricacies has caused her to (readily) admit that she will never stop learning how to help children access the full potential of their brains, and learning every avenue that needs to be taken to help them get there.

In her free time, Dr Anna enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with Isiah (not at work) and their son, and making the most of any opportunity to visit the beach.

Meri Dennis brings a wealth of administrative and patient-centered experience to her role. With a strong background in healthcare coordination, legal administration, and customer service, Meri excels at fostering efficient office operations while prioritizing patient satisfaction. Her previous experiences include a pediatric therapy facility, a multi-state hospital organization and a boutique law practice where she honed her skills in scheduling, insurance verification, compliance, and client communication.
Known for her adaptability, attention to detail, and proactive leadership, Meri is committed to creating a welcoming and well-organized clinic environment that supports both clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Nate is currently interning at our clinic as part of his hands-on training before beginning chiropractic school in the fall. He plays an active role in supporting our team by observing clinical procedures, assisting with day-to-day operations, and helping guide patients through therapeutic exercises and brain-based activities. Nate brings a thoughtful and enthusiastic presence to the office, and we're excited to have him on the team as he deepens his experience in this growing field.

Your initial evaluation will be unlike most doctor's visit. You’ll spend a full hour with both of our doctors, discussing everything from your medical history and symptoms to your childhood, school experiences, coordination, and more. We’ll also probably check you for a tongue tie, but we’ll save the ‘why’ behind that for your eval.
Before your initial evaluation, you will be asked to complete a detailed health history and send any relevant evaluations, labs, imaging, or medical records to our front desk staff at office@synergynwi.com.

We’ve found that working outside the constraints of insurance allows us to provide the highest quality, personalized care without limitations. That said, our office does not accept insurance.

Yes! We’re always accepting new chiropractic patients and would love to help you feel your best.

That depends on what we find during your initial evaluation. Some patients may need more frequent visits at first, especially if they’re dealing with chronic or complex issues.
Our goal, however, is always to move you toward infrequent maintenance care—or simply being able to come in as needed when something comes up.

Our priority is making sure you get the care you need. If we determine that your condition requires support beyond what we offer, we’ll refer you to a trusted specialist within our network of physicians. We’re committed to helping you get to the root cause—whether that means continuing care with us or guiding you to the right medical intervention.
